Do I need to swipe my ebucks card at Checkers? The lady at the till said I do, so I gave it to her but apparently it needs a pin.. Didn't know that, and I don't know the pin :( so now no ebucks for that transaction I'm guessing

Tell her to EFF off next time ;) No, you don't swipe eBucks card at Checkers and you only need a PIN when spending on card which you should NEVER do.

Haha! Yeah come to think of it, when she saw the card, she probably just assumed I wanted to spend my ebucks. Luckily I didn't know the pin

Thanks chaps

reward level you got to on the 8th of the month. So april spend will earn at RL that you get on the 8th of May.

Can someone else verify this is correct?

I got lvl 4 (8th May). So i'd like to make sure if I do everything right this month that I'll get lvl 5 and eBucks calculated on lvl 5 earn vs the lvl 4 I currently sit on.

I'm looking at the some options to get me up to RL5. Is there any way to use any of the loan / overdraft options without having to actually go into overdraft or pay interest on them?

Open a flexi fixed deposit account and put R10K in there, if you don't have one already

Don't make debt to earn rewards ..... That's just dumb !

Agree completely - not looking to get debt, just points :) Can one add additional funds to the flexi fixed deposit (extra points for a scheduled transfer to an investment account)

I think there are levels. I just opened one with the minimum requirement which was R10K

I quickly checked for you.

From R10K to R49999 you get 1500 points.
Above R50K, you get 2000 points

Another thing that you can do which is easy, setup an auto payment on your CC

I've set up the autopayment. Read up on the flexi fixed deposit - looks like payments can be made. I get 1000 points for making a scheduled transfer to an investment account.

I don't follow what the other guys are saying , but let me phrase it this way: You were notified on 8 May that you achieved RL4 for April. This was determined by your spend / behaviour from 1-30 April (allow for late transactions in March which only reflected on or after 1 April). Therefore the eBucks awarded to you on 8 May were for April spend.

The month of May is a fresh slate, so how you transact/behave this month will determine what RL they notify you of on 8 June but applicable to 1-31 May eBucks earn.

StrontiumDog, thanks for your last reply. I understand now how FNB calculate eB. I got confused as the statements run over months !

Thanks - makes sense!

Is this related to the overdraft or revolving loan where you have to move 20% between the accounts?

Oh it's related to this:
Do you have an FNB Investment Account and maintain a monthly balance of R10 000 or more?

Do you guys have a flexi fixed deposit on 3 months or 1 year?

I have a 32 day savings account and get the points.

i am sure the overdraft / credit has been discussed a few times, but basically you will need to go to the required limit for about 24 hours, and then return. interest for a day should be minimal.

I think you pay a service fee of R57 just for that type of transaction, whether it be overdraft or revolving loan.
The overdraft can only be used if your cheque account balance is 0.

Instead, I set up a revolving loan of R2000 where I move R200 to my Cheque account, then move it back the next day.
