Is it just me, or has anyone else on this forum "suffered" from this?

Do you come home from work and lay on the couch or bed until you fall asleep?

Do you generally not feel like doing anything but sit in front of your pc or tv?

From the moment I wake up until the moment I go back to bed at night I feel exhausted.
I don't even feel like going to pubs, clubs or any outings anymore.

Would gym help get my energy levels back on par?
And if not, what would?

It's that time of year, need a holiday I reckon.

Also gym would definitely help, drink more water and maybe take a multi vitamin.

Amen brother. Coffee!!!!

My wife is currently at this stage. Last night I figured out why. Our middle boy gets up in the night to come sleep in the bed with us. She's just not getting good quality sleep. That plus the baby sleeping in bed and feeding intermittently. I don't really have a solution for that, it's just where we are right now I guess.

How old are you and are you living alone?

I was like this in my mid twenties too. I'd buy something to eat on my way home, then slouch in front of the TV until I fall asleep

Vitamin B and B complex shots. It burns like hell but works.
Gym will work.

No amount of sleep is enough, I still feel the same.

I am 28. Living with gf.

O well, will try jogging to get my stamina up and change my diet plan.

I suffered from this. After many years eventually discovered that I have a mild form of arthritis. Body is constantly fighting itself. That's what caused my tiredness. My body doesn't get to "rest" when I sleep.

If you want the shortcut method, we could stick you in a 5000 tesla EM field.

That'll wake you up. Realign all your synapses and what not.

True what Deadmanza said, I feel it too. It's been a tough year for all of us.

Diet? Stay away from caffeine and sugary items. Low gi food as much possible. You seem to be showing signs of crashes. As in you eating poorly and crash.

Food, fruit and eating well should make you feel better. Crashing from coffee, coke and sugary items will ensure you are tired most of the time.

How did you discover this?

Have your hormone levels tested. My housemate suffered from this for years and is now on hormone replacement medication and it sorted her out.

This was exactly what I went thru. Wake up tired, spend the day tired, struggle to stay awake in the afternoons.
Turns out I am pre-daibetic (runs in the family).
I don't have to stab myself with insulin yet, but I'm on some basic medication and I now have to watch what I eat.
I couldn't believe the difference the medication had, took the first one at supper, woke up the next day like a normal person.

I'm not saying that that is the case with you, but it's worth checking out. Chronic fatigue is not a fun place to be.

Just as an experiment, go buy one of those Monster Energy drinks (the 500ml cans) and drink that and see what happens. Not saying you have to do it all the time and yes alot of people might argue the health around it, but that would give you an indication of what the problem might be, i.e. whether it's a mental thing or whether you really just do not get enough energy during the day.

I've been popping a red bull or a monster every now and then when i feel like that and it sure makes me go from zombie mode to wanting to go out and do something.

That's because Monster has a massive amount of sugar and caffeine in it. I liked Monster. It mixes so very, very well with vodka.
Can't have it anymore :(

Monster energy drinks are awful. They will work but only because they give you a massive glucose infusion that is just about the worst way to recover your energy levels over the long term.

I love monster, i used to buy those 750ml cans but then i was feeling tired day after day and once i stopped monster, drank only water and cut down as much rubbish food as possible my energy levels shot up.

Cerebus basically explained it 100% :p

Yes i know, hence why i say it's not necessarily the healthiest thing to drink regularly, but it might indicate whether the lack of energy stems from lack of energy or something bigger like a mental problem, another disease or lack of sleep.

Thing is, i'm sure i'm not the only one, where everyone tries to cut out carbs and sugar out of their diets, so in the end by 5pm you REALLY got nothing left! People skip breakfasts, they eat these ultra low carb, zero fat, zero sugar salads for lunch and dinner and then wonder why they are zombies by the time they get home from work?

As with all things, moderation is key. You still need sugar / energy from somewhere and it's certainly not going to come from that extra leaf in your tea.

So i'd say if the OP haven't done it, try it and then figure out how to replicate it without drinking an energy drink. (i.e. eating different food with more energy in it). So while people might say "exercise" helps with that drousy/zombie feeling, it doesn't help if you can't find the energy to start the exercise to begin with :) I know the feeling, you're not going to gym feeling like that unless someone is dragging you there with a gun to your head.
