Titanium Backup

Hi Guys

Just want to find out best practices when it comes to Titanium Backup.

I noticed that my storage has gotten full on my phone , and because I can't insert an SD card into it, I'm running low. My question is, should I run TB only before a factory reset or installing a custom rom, then deleting that backup folder once everything has been re installed? And then back up when need be?

I also noticed, that I set TB to back up each day via a schedule, which I'm assuming Is a bad thing to do.
