To 4MB or to not 4MB

So would a 4MB line help me clip my dots less cos raiding whit a shadow priest be all about timing your dots. Would the increase in DPS justify the decrease in beer moneys I now has ?
 
AFAIK it is all about latency and I currently get around 250ms - 400ms on a 384k line. From past posters on this forum I do not think a 4mb line will make a difference to the way your data is packaged and sent (Not sure as IT stuffz is not my forte at all).

Perhaps using a service like GameMax (I have never used them) will reduce your latency even further and therefore improve your DOT timing.
 
Yourine speed has no effect. I have 384k line and with gamemax i get 250-300ms. From what I read and understand that is pretty much the lowest it will be considering we are a few thousand km's away from all the server action going on

Just use the addon called DOT timer or Necrosis.

That way you won't clip your dots ;) OT: a 4MB line will not make a difference, it's just a massive waste of money if you want it for latency ;)
 
the extra capacity on the line will enable multiple people to use the line or play without being adversely affected. I play on a 2mbit, and its more than adequate. So you might as well go for it, plus when you download it wont be at 35KB/s but 420KB/s looks alot better:P
 
I use a 4mbit,but thats because I do torrent and usenet along with WoW and can't afford the latency spikes ;)
 
I dont know about gamemax seems to get more lag spikes whit it than whit out and as soon as some one gets on the other PC to check e-mail or mingle on face book (normally during raiding time's) the lag and lag spikes driver me up the gamemax walls
 
But switching from shaped to unshaped gives a bit higher lat
But seems more stable but you still get the facebook /facepalm but not as bad whit gamemax (that I will be canceling soon)
 
mmmm get unshaped or use a vpn connections,here they is fast,isp's like openweb does offer it.
i raid normally with 600ms or more and i can still time stuff pretty good :)
