With regards to setting up cisco routers
Busy doing it now. Serial to USB or can use serial to ethernet and get usb ethernet adapter.
Most guys I have seen working for IS also doing same.
With regards to using for business... Mail is a bit of downfall but my company has web based login so I use that instead. Mac is quicker to boot up and if need to access windows use Parallels and make small partition.
btw: CLI is better with macbooksSSH and telnet is on by default.
I have switched to OpenOffice and Thunderbird about a year ago (after Office 360 said pay or leave) and use it on both Linux and Windows machines, both are available on Mac as well, so no change there. My main worry would be connectivity to routers, but it sounds like that is nothing to worry about. I have a USB to Serial cable, my only concern now would be setting that up to work.
I only realised it now, they don't have Ethernet either, must you get an adaptor for everything? Eish, I use that a lot for config on ADSL routers and some others. Need to check the availability of these adaptors.
I'd hate to have a Mac and run Windows on it, even if it's only a VM.
