My baby is 20 months and has not yet started talking, he talks only 4-5 words. He will be talking in his own language but understand what ever i say to him. Do i need to get worried about it or it is normal with every baby.....

It's not normal with every baby, but I wouldn't be worried either. Children differ. My sister's first daughter spoke when she was 1 year old. Her son spoke only much later.

Just speak to him, without using baby talk and he'll soon pick it up :) Don't rush him. Soon you'll be wishing he couldn't talk. haha :p

As above, all children are different.

However, if his/her speech sounds NOTHING like ANYTHING you have heard before, or not even close to real language, or the way babies normally babble, then go to the ENT and check his/her ears.

true dont speak to a child in baby language you wont develop his/her mind

i wouldn't worry about him/her not working just yet your child might develop better in other areas where some children lack
also when the baby does decide to work it wont take long for it to start running.

Give the child space to develop at own pace. Nothing wrong.

Experiment: Put on some Bieber cd's on repeat.
He/ She will have to say "Turn that **** off"
Problem solved !!

My nephew only started talking when he was about 28 months. Nothing to worry about though. It's shutting them up that's the problem ;)

boys take longer to speak generally.
My brothers son Christian is two and a half and has only recently started speaking.
If you are unsure you can see an speech therapist to set your mind at ease
