Does anyone know if toilet tissue in SA is regulated in terms of minimum paper thickness, alternately, what thickness qualifies as double ply (if any)

I'm convinced that Twinsaver double ply has very recently reduced their paper thickness and is more a 1.5 ply now, at a higher price too.

The actual paper or roll thickness is not mentioned anywhere at all.

I'm not prepared to take this kind of shi*t.

They are making it thinner yes. I heard their CEO was very demanding in his requirements for his new luxury ride so unfortunately, the cost has to be passed on to you, the consumer.
And would I be correct in assuming that this was never communicated to customers on packaging or anywhere else .... Stealth mode as always

I bought some kitten soft instead of baby soft when they entered the market and the prices dropped slightly for a while but I see we are back at the ridiculous prices again.

Who the hell buys twin saver? That is budget toilet paper.
I've been buying heaps of this brand for the office and for home in one go.
One of the office ladies asked if we've cheapened out on tp. She first pointed it out and then I noticed for myself as well.

Never occurred to me that it was regarded as poor quality

The woolies brand 2-ply has been my go to. I usually pick up a 18-pack for R169 or so.

The girls say it's better than baby soft and twinsaver.

So you reckon Woolies, I'm pretty sure we've had that at home before
.
I don't really pay attention to these things, unless the finger starts going through the paper and into your ass every single time.Thats when I lose my shi*

Yeah it's a bit thicker and softer but doesn't tear in your hands...compared to the usual 2-plys.

twinaver is fine for the office, but you shouldn't be using that stuff at home. it is bottom of the barrel.

For the office i get the Checkers no-name brand 2 ply paper. Much better than Twinsaver and lots cheaper than baby-soft.
