I do this as well because it saves time unzipping. It's easier to do cos of a langslang lurking in the pants.

I'm convinced that Twinsaver double ply has very recently reduced their paper thickness and is more a 1.5 ply now, at a higher price too.

The actual paper or roll thickness is not mentioned anywhere at all.

Youre actually quite right. I have noticed the change in the 2 ply now, it is courser and feels more like one ply. I wanted to complain because we still pay the same price but getting a lower quality item.
 
Dont buy the baby soft one at woolies, that one has progressively started getting very course. I have attached the picture of the one I am referring to.

You might mean coarse.
The course(or path )toilet tissue takes will never change much. Front to back or back to front. Have yet to meet a side to sider

That's a shame, I was going to Chamberlains.

I'm close to Lifestyle Garden Centre, will have a look at Westpack there.
