It depends on how the athlete performs.

For example, when Andy Murray won Wimbledon he was British. When he loses and throws tantrums, he is Scottish.

They should just compete as individual nations. The national pride is for the individual nations anyway. It's partly why they don't field a soccer team, can't seem to agree on representation. The other nations don't want England to dominate.
 
Today I think is just Wayde for us. His 400m semi final is 13:21 today

Rory did not qualify as a South African Olympian golf team member because he is ranked too low. As Slovak he is rank no.1 and qualified for the Olympics.
