The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and also known as Tokyo 2020, is scheduled to be held from 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will feature a record 33 competitions and 339 events held across 42 competition venues.

This summer's Tokyo Olympics will go ahead without spectators after a surge in coronavirus cases, organisers have announced.

Really excited although I am not sure how well SA will do.

4-5 medals with one silver if we're lucky.

Edit: Okay scratch that, we got 2 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze last time.

Don't think we will beat the previous Olympics.. Caster and Luvo Manyonga are out and don't think Wayde is fully fit. Might pick up a few medals in the swimming

Dont forget about Gerda Steyn... i think she has a decent chance to land in the medals.

Yeah think the distance might just be to short and the Kenyans are damn fast but you never know. Our rowers might also have a chance

We'll probably get a gold or two in swimming. Then also a few silvers or bronzes in swimming, track & field, triathlon and maybe 7s. Can't think of medals anywhere else

No wonder it keeps getting colder. First peppa pig is controversial and now golf is an olympic sport.
The devil must enjoy ice skating.

Akine Simbine is also a serious medal prospect. Apparently he a ran 9.84 in the 100m at some meet a few weeks ago so he's got some form.

Ugh, don't get me started. Call me a traditionalist but imo, sports like golf, football, tennis, surfing, basketball and even rugby don't belong there. Christ, I see there is BMX racing and skateboarding! Isn't that what the X-Games are for??

Agreed maybe they are trying to innovate not sure but if it ain't broken don't fix it.

I for one am glad sports like bmx racing is at the olympics. One of my favourite events to watch

Toyota ... Japan's largest company has canceled its TV ads for the games, despite being one of the event's top sponsors. Company officials have also opted out of the opening ceremony on Friday.

Only in Japan it seems.
