Tomtom for Iphone release soon

Tom Tom have come up in the market I hear.....I wonder what this will cost though.

I love the mounting bracket that tomtom has designed for in car use with the iPhone.

It rocks!!

Cool! Sucks that it aint Garmin but thats politics I guess...

It is however reaching that stage where convergence makes me a little uneasy.
I can deal with not having an mp3 player if my phone is dead but (if you put all your iEggs in your iBasket of course) no GPS/email/etc. Could prove a ballache.

Dont get me wrong - ever since caramel corn I am all for convergence but personally I'd employ a certain level of redundancy like keeping the old Garmin in the glove compartment for instance.

Dude, I see that the UNOFFICIAL TomTom Application IS currently available for the local South African market at the moment!

Except it is NOT available through the Apple AppStore at all .... yet!

There is a local torrent site with it on, it's 147.24 MB in size, and works PERFECTLY !!!!!

Grab it while it is still available!

(P.S. You will need a jailbroken iPhone 3G or 3G to install it !!!)

Yep it has been mentioned in the thread (my sig) :)

There was some talk around which was the better nav app.

I was perusing the iTS today and noticed that TomTom for Southern Africa is available ($79). Obviously this is a lot cheaper than getting a standalone unit but is it worth the money?

I'd say. Check out Navigon too, but in terms of usability, TomTom wins for me.

Try them both out first if you are jailbroken and them make your choice.
