i think vw offers good service ,so il stick with them.
i always take down the mileage when i leave my car there and check that it hasnt done more than 15km .

it needs to be justified , since i know most of the guys at the dealership,they know they shouldnt mess around cos i did have issues with them initially , they messed the roof with greesy hands and i told the service advisor to clean it.
the service manager is a personal friend of mine too.

it shouldnt do more than 15km cos i drop it off and pick it up , i know the route they go when test driving and its only 11 km to and fro.

supposedly they take it on the route , find a fault , theyd have to bring it back and fix the fault and take it on the route again 22 km , it can be justified.
the fact that i will ask them , makes them aware that i want to know whats happening.

The Audi Braamfontein one really shocked me. The dude obviously has a thing for Audi, having bought a Q7 AND an R8, and they choose to screw him around on a A4. Anyway, I'm sure BMW/Merc would love to have the dude as a valued customer. He certainly has the money.

The technician who crashed the vehicle was dismissed.

And the little paloeka from VW? I guess because he didn't crash, everything's peachy over at Lindsay Saker. That's the branch where my car is/was serviced.

After reading the post here on MYBB about this incident I was curious to know what was going to come of it. I'm glad Carte Blanche covered this. Hopefully we'll see some new policies put in place and less windgat kiddies driving customers' cars like they're playing GTA.

If it were my RS4, I would be furious to say the least.

well... both my parents are BMW drivers, they love the cars... BUT, my mom has a 525i Touring and it's motor plan just finished (100 000 km's). Thing is, the moment her car go out of motor plan, the gear box broke... which if my parents went through BMW would have cost+-R30 000! but they got connections and the discovered that BMW simply spend the car to some guy who fixes BMW's and Merc's etc... and so that only cost them R14 000 ...

So guys, if you are going for a BMW, then sell the car just before the motor plan ends... it will end up saving you more money

yes and also , xtend the motor plan a little more before you sell the car , it instill confidence into the potential buyer , you should also get a better price if the car has extended motor plan.

Audi Sandton - long wait for repairs.

Ive had my Audi A3 2.0 TDI in for repairs (out of warranty - cracked head - R25,000.00) at Audit Sandton and it has now been in for 3 months. No obvious reason for the delay has been provided but instead Ive recieved a string of lies, weak stories, excuses and empty promises. After two months I begged and pleaded as I am being finacially affected by not having my Audi I was offered a VW Citi Golf to use IF I signed a document stating that I would be liable for a R20,000.00 (twenty thousand rands) excess should anything happen to the citi golf!!!.............. Ive eventually been promised, after I threatened to come collect my A3 with a tow truck last week, that it would be ready this Friday..... watch this space!

not gonna happen mate.

My mate's A3 2.0T has gone in to Audi in East London NUMEROUS times for fault that keep re-occuring almost since day one. He's been driving without his ESP working for over a year now. Everytime there's more stories/lies/hiding around.

He , and a few other mates I know, now take their audis/VW's to PE / Grahamstown to get serviced etc.

That's just ridiculous!!!! You should phone Audi SA and complain!!! How on earth can this take so long to repair? Perhaps the vehicle has been sent to a 3rd party for the repair and the 3rd party is delaying??!!! Crazy stuff!!!...

Regarding the written off RS4 the owner was offered a replacement vehicle of the same year, similar mileage and similar condition which he declined, fair enough. He chose to claim from his insurance and was paid out less 15% excess which the dealership reimbursed him for (100k). The technician who crashed the vehicle was dismissed.

He has issue with the inconvenience of it all but with all due respect I think the dealer has done what they could and Ted is being a bit of a prat.

He is not a prat. Your insurance policy states that if a vehicle is written off in its first year from new, the vehicle is replaced with a brand new one. That is what he got from his insurance and what he should have got from the Audi dealership - if they were insured.

The fact that they now agree to pay his excess and other expenses after he claimed is an insult considering that his monthly premiums will also go up for the next year. Then again, the expenses they have now agreed to pay arent even 25% of what their 2nd hand RS4 would have cost them, so either way it's more of a win for the dealership at the end of the day.

Besides, would you accept a "similar" 2nd hand RS4 if yours get's smashed by some 22yo snotter? I sure as hell won't.
