Too many whites in management

Not in the company I work at. Hardly a single white manager, not even team leads.

Their definition of employment equity seems to entail some archaic quota system where x jobs go to y skin colors. Just put the best people in the job and stop worrying about trying to balance the scales. Maybe I'm naive but it must be a minority of companies in SA that actively prevent black people from managerial positions. Most people seem to just want the best person for the job, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation or religion.
 
You can fire every white person in the country and give their job to a black person, but you're still going to have 10's of millions of unemployed black people. Stop focusing on white/black and create jobs for all.
 
The private sector, focused on making money for shareholders, is not going to drop the age old principle of merit to appease some idiot's definition of equity.

Equity is the quality of being fair or impartial. He applied for the job and lost to the better man. End of story really.

Handouts, aka BEE, has been the ruin of this country.
 
While you were all busy with the "struggle" and still busy with it , we were getting degrees and skills.
When you have the necessary skills you too can apply for these jobs instead of burning everything down.
 
Yes genius you are so right. The public sector and state owned entities are doing great work with transformation and appointing black management.

They are also doing wonders in running these said Departments/SOE into the ground because they are appointed to these positions based on their skin colour/political affiliation, but have absolutely no clue or brain power to actually run anything.

Honestly I just wish these stupid f***ers would actually think before they speak, and actually start worrying about who is the best person to do a job rather than their skin colour.

When will they realise this "transformation" is destroying this country. Why dont they rather focus on creating a good education system which will then result in top quality black leaders coming through the ranks. FFS they have had 20 years to do this but you rather rape and pillage the country. An educated public is not good for the ANC.
 
Private business maybe. But here in government all our directors are black females.
Most managers are mixed black males and females. We have 1 white female manager and 1 white male assistant manager.

So don't know where get info...

To me it's more a generational thing, we have lots of managers/executives from the older generations and that's the problem.
We need young people irrespective of colour and the whole situation will improve. Experience is great and all but fresh ideas and youth is sometimes just as great. We want to stick with the tried and tested guys but that also inevitably brings ideas from an era that damages the future the longer it sticks around.
 
So freaking what! IDIOTS! You need savvy up there and you cannot buy it at KFC .

I'm sorry but it simply does not, quite the opposite, and there's plenty of real life evidence supporting my viewpoint.

Hmmmm... and how many of those private sector managers also own their companies or are in family-owned companies? And how many of those were ex-government managers/employees who left the service in disgust due to discriminatory promotion practices?

NO, you blithering acting fool, they are not doing well at all. In general they are extremely inefficient and most departments and SOE's are crippled by poor management.
 
The worst company I have ever worked for was a heavily pro BEE company. All of their managers were useless, teams were not motivated. Everything was about the appearance of being liberal and progressive, and not about actually getting work done.

As soon as you hire people for any other reason than getting the job done, you end up with a screw up.
