Top 10 IPTV countries globally

Dudes, do we as south africans have any IPTV options? I know we have apple tv and itunes, and DSTV VOD, but do we have anything else? Like sports channels n stuff, even if its subscription based? I would really like to know.

I believe this is the future of TV.

Supersport can also be streamed, there was talk of the SABC planing to stream SABC 1, 2 & 3 in SA. But at the rate government entities take to deploy something it looks like it might happen in the year 3000... Just look at the DVB/H-T2 deployment 6 years into testing and no light at the end of that tunnel yet....

Sports is all I really need though to complete my ultimate DSTV-free entertainment system.

Do you know how they stream SS? Is it flash, silverlight or H264? I hope its H264 so I can add it to my apple TV's list of livestreams.

I'm not at all surprised South Africa doesn't feature at all.

We have experimentation but nothing really commercial. The problem is that one player has a stranglehold on the key content needed to make any paid-TV service work, so no new players can really enter the market unless they have very deep pockets.

I do hope the likes of Google-TV enter our market as they can afford a longer battle and could really shake out our market for the better.

I personally would love to see Netflix coming in and would subscribe to that rather than paying a fortune for the dish service.
