Much as I really want to read their predictions, the article is just littered with too many buzzwords to make it an easy read...

By 2020, developed world life expectancy will increase by 0.5 years due to widespread adoption of wireless health monitoring technology.

I like this, especially if it helps to brings the cost of medical aid down.

I'm sure there will be great things to come in the realm of technological augmentation of human well-being, but...

beware the slippery slope from 'monitored patient' -> 'monitored citizen'.

Privacy is a powerful bartering item these days. Discount! Discount!

Because it was written for CEOs and other creatures that like to pay money for (unread) reports on their desks that make them seem smarter. The version for guys like you and me goes like like this:

Things that's been happening a lot will continue to happen but it will happen a little faster and a little more. Things that are happening less will continue to decline but it will happen a little slower and not as frequently. It's important to know the difference between the two.

Basically the same predictions they give out year after year after they "Find & Replace" the buzzwords.

If you had any insight into the medical aid, hospital & pharmaceutical fields you would be utterly disgusted.

And the prediction: "Increasingly powerful smartphones and tablets"
How can that be a prediction?
Its a given.
