Top tips to beat load-shedding

a way easier way is to go cut all these illegal shacks stealing power and those not paying for it
 
In Mpmalanga, my brother's one worker says he buys R30 worth of electricity (pre-paid) and is given another 30 for buying 30. This lasts nearly 2 months - lights, geyser, stove and tv. And pre-paid is supplied by eishkom.... What they are giving to zim may be peanuts. It seems something has been fiddled on the pre-pay already - no surprise.

More OT. Interesting how people hop on the bandwagon. Noticed a building contractor bakkie yesterday with added signage offerring UPS type product installation.

From computing point of view - a customer who moved to Cape Town was advised to replace CRT with LCD when shopping for a backup system.. I pointed out the label on the back - LCD used more current than the CRT. Say no more.
 
loadshedding would not be a problem if companies stop wasting like over-affluent farts. they consume the most electricity, not the average household. companies leave their lights and AC on all night. that's the problem.
 
Eskom should be supplying all of these devices to the population by the millions... if not they should expect to be sued for all the damaged equipment.

Current is used to calc watts. Voltage the same 220 or 240AC rating. So current is direct related to watts (assume PF constant - which most do).

Incidently - the watt ratings were the same. Confuzzled with vent fan testing which takes up more of my time lately.
 
this topic is so old. Next time there's load shedding we should think of this topic and I'm sure it will put us to sleep. No that would actually be quite useful - catching up on sleep.
