Top Tv channel pixelization

lol - I guess the real question would be - is this isolated or a bigger issue? I'm guessing there's some interference somewhere (clouds, rain, etc) and it will clear up again, but then I'm no expert.

I doubt that's the cause. The most common cause is overzealous compression of the bitstream which is also noticeable on some dstv channels.

hehe, and that's why I said "I'm no expert" :) Would still love to hear if it's a widespread issue, which would confirm the "overzealous compression of the bitstream" reason. (Not that I'm doubting you, it's just that I've only seen the one report of problems and I have no way to verify it myself... :()

I stay in the karoo with blue skys 99.9% of the time and the wind is also not blowing signal quality 100% and signal 194

also it looks like all of the channels whites are over exposed.

I am also getting this problem .... although after a few mins it does not appear as bad ... but still quite pixelated

Dam you lucky - I am not even getting 100% - getting around 70% signal and have clear line of the sky...
Picture quality is 100%
My problem is Lipsync!!!!!!!!!!

ok on screen I have 2 bars 1 signal strenth 2 signal quality and bottom left signal
Strenth +- 80%
quality 100%
signal 194

I have a 80cm dish LNB low freq 97.5 and hi freq 10.7

Forgot to say my lip-sync is great only on Friday night @ 22:20 on FLN completely out of sync for about 45 min then it sorted it self out.

My sound setting are Dolby and 20ms delay no problems with Tv Speakers or over surround system

24 crate gold tip Av cable

Decoder to dish high quality 75 Ohm coaxial cable 64 Braid.

Oh ok. That explains a lot - could be cheap ****y cable installed - I will ask toptv to send another installer because this **** is pissing me off. Lip-sync on all channels

My installer gave me an option of with coaxial cable he must install the cheap one that Toptv covers 100% (R2.00 p/meter) or the Hi quality @ R5.00 p/meter so I paid R3.00 p/meter * 10m = R30.00

So I think there is a compression problem or HD content converted to SD.

Are their any other peeps with the same problem and on what channels?

My fox fx picture qulity its like those bathroom windows , you know the ones that dont allow you to see thru::erm:

Also noticed this on my side, noticed it on Fox Retro as well.
Slightly unrelated, I have also noticed that the TopTV decoder blocks recording when using the AV connection. Records fine on RF
