At present, I am holed up at my parents' house (house sitting as they are away in UK) for two months. They have DSTV so that's no prob but I also want my TopTV but I cannot install the dish here. Not for two months! So, does anyone know if I can use the TopTV LNB on one of those camping dishes and if this setup can be done (and even how to do it).

Call TopTV and see if they have some temp way of helping you.

Thanks for info. Looks like I am going to have to assemble my other dish then. So, its 315Âş if I am not mistaken.

Why on Earth would you need top tv if you already have DSTV. Is it for a specific channel that DSTV does not have?

TOPTV will work on DSTV kit - I did that before my TOPTV dish etc. was installed as there was a shortage of installers in the beginning. Just google (search) for the settings and it will work or ask TOPTV where you can get the settings. You can also use the same LNB - it needs to be turned a bit I can remember. I am sure there are people here that can give you the settings as well.

You mean the LNB supplied with the DSTV kit? And it worked? On the camping dish?

Oh, and to answer above question: I am paying for it so I may as well watch it. Plus, there is quite a bit I do enjoy on TopTV. Or at least used to, before this situation.

A camping dish is 45cm in size. It will never work... Maybe your 60cm DStv dish worked, but it would have been marginal.

Sorry mine worked fine with no problems on a 60cm DSTV dish and LNB. If you already have the camping kit I say there is no harm in trying.

I've done testing.... 45cm, 60cm, 70cm, 75cm, 80cm, 85cm, 90cm, 100cm, 120cm.

45cm non existent. 60-75cm was marginal (it will fall over when a cloud moves in between dish and satellite). 85cm and up was where it got better. So, good luck if you try.
