Toptv remote lost

Ok, so I seem to have misplaced my toptv remote :)
anyone know if you can get a replacement?? and if so, what is the cost?
if not, what options do I have?? can I just get a universal remote and tune it to toptv??
 
I'm using my universal remote for TTV and it works just fine. I actually prefer it as the "Info" button is now closer to the centre of the remote as opposed to at the top where I have to look for it.
ALso, I've been using my universal remote for years so I've become accustomed to where each button is. Saved me from having to learn the new layout of the original TTV remote.
 
The alternative is this: Call TopTV and ask them where you can buy the official remote. That way, you're guaranteed to find your old one as soon as the new one arrives. Then you have two, which is wicked cool. You could carry them on your hips like a cowboy. You'll be the talk of the town.

Had been waiting for a thread like this, in other words was dearly praying that someone actually experiences something bad with their system so that, when that happens to me, I will know exactly where to go or how to troubleshoot...had priviledge while in School, while studying Accounting we were aways given examples of Alma Traders in every new chapter we start :wtf: :D

We currently do not sell decoder accessories seperately however we will inform our customers as soon as they are available. At moment we suggest you use a universal remote.

I see that the decoder has only a year guarantee. But say something happens to it in the meantime or whatever, do you have to buy the whole package again? You don’t need two dishes?

How much will the decoder be on its own? (If available) :confused:
 
guess I have to get a universal remote now ... any recommendations??? something not too expensive though :)

Keiron, what universal remote do u have??
I bought a sony one but it does not pickup toptv :(

I honestly don't know. It says "Universal Remote" on it. :P
Got it from some Chinese shop about 5 years ago.
Actually I think I may have a spare one lying around. I'll see if I can find it and if so, it's yours.

Thanx Kheiron ... but sure as day ... once u give me the spare ... u will lose urs :)
Have to return the sony one ... so will try and see if the ellies one is any better
 
Lucifer, I would love to know what happend to your remote.

Where do you stay in this RSA.
My first decoder were not a very happy decoder bought a new one and have a spare remote.
I don't think a code will be available best option is get another or copy commands from a original remote into a universal remote like One for All
 
You would have to be pretty retarded to completely lose a remote for something like that. Please tell us you haven't reproduced yet?
 
ok ... finally got the logitech 525 universal remote .... but can't setup toptv... they not listed as a manufacturer ... tried calling them, but no help yet. They said they will call me back , but initially want to courier a remote to me ... which is all good as they were not going to charge for the remote ... but I am sure the courier fees will be expensive ... and might as well go buy another decoder with a remote :)
Anyways ... if anyone knows how to setup my universal remote to work with toptv, please let me know.

hopefully this remote will last :)
 
finally managed to find my lost remote .... it was inside one of the sofas :)
its interesting to note though, that toptv has no plans for people that lose/damage their remotes ....
although I have to admit, the distributor down in durbs was very helpful ... much more so that toptv themselves .
anyways ... gonna set this on the logitech website ... so hopefully others can also use it in future
