Tor Messenger – secure chat

The worst part about this "secure" messenger is that every other chat client allows you to use a Google authentication token, but the Tor Messenger requires you to sign in with your Google account and Google password - perhaps I am too paranoid to trust a "secure" chat program with my full login credentials.

I love telegram and the encryption is awesome.
but it is not Tor.

now if Telegram goes full Tor on top of the current encryption, keeping the UI the way it is and the ability to add secret chats and user who's numbers you do not have, then it will take over even more market share.

and in 6 months when whatsapp decides to bow down to its overlord and merges its status with the FB status and link the account to FB and requires FB messenger to run on devices telegram will take market share.

then more people will see why its better and in 3 years whatsapp could be the mixit of a year ago.

Drop phone number requirement and it's good to go. (Why phone number? Why not email ffs!)

do you have telegram installed? it does not need a phone number at all.

Isn't Gtalk dead and gone? Also i wouldn't bother with a new messenger service

You can register with a phone number to create your telegram account and then add a username to your profile. If a person adds you by using your username and not your number the person won't be able to see your number.

No...that would be stupid. It is the whole idea that it will pick up other users automtically in your phonebook that makes Telegram and WhatsApp good. It is convenient and no need to ask for pin numbers or usernames. Telegram does have the feature though of creating a username if you dont want people to have your cell number that does not have it already.
 
Can you compare visualization picture of encryption keys with that services, or any other form of verification of keys to make sure there is no middleman?
