Hi All,

The torch 9860 is advertised and has been released in both the States and the UK, does anyone have a lead on when this model will be landing in SA?
Trying to call the providers is a waste of time as they don't really seem to have much knowledge of the current models let alone new releases such as the 9860.

I wonder if I will get any feedback?
it's strange that there is no mention of it on the ZA Blackberry site though...

Spoke to a Blackberry Rep 2day! He says the 9810 will be released early next year but no news on 9860!

I spoke to a guy from MTN and he told me they don't plan on bring the torch 9860 to south africa only Bold 9900

The Torch 9810 is coming first quarter next year. The Torch 9860 is CDMA I think, it won't be capable here in South Africa. The Bold 9900 is already available on Vodacom-ZA.

I'm waiting for QNX :D

Well, buying it abroad was about R5300 which included the import taxes and shipping.

The wife is using it. Pretty impressive phone though!

Which is exactly why they should and probably will release it here.
Blackberry generally make two versions of each model, one for CDMA and one for the rest of us.
Hopefully they bring the 9860 over soon, I still have my bold 9000 but I am getting a bit sick of waiting.
One thing I am not fond of is the way Blackberry South Africa give John Q f-all information about their releases!

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Torch 9850 is the CDMA version. But, i think i am right.

They will be stupid if they do not release the 9860 here in SA for those who like full touchscreen devices.

I was used to the keypad on my previous BBs and this feels totally 'different' the few times i played with it.....

Where did you buy it from? Does it work fine our networks? thnx

Blackberry 9850 - 9860

I have a blackberry torch 9860 and a friend of mine has a torch 9850 and those 2 phones work 100% on both the
vodacom and mtn network . South Africa is always late with there releasing of there phones . If your liked the blackberry Storm you will definetly like this phone , Excellent screen and super fast

the only problem is the Storm was terrible!
I have heard the 9860 is leagues ahead though, which is great.
Now if only Blackberry SA would let us in on a release date, if they dont do it soon I may be forced to go to the dark side as my current phone is stuffed!

Hello everyone, my sister has just relocated from uk back to South Africa (Randburg). She is wanting to sell her bb torch 9860 for R5000. I am in Uk, but you can email quickly if you are interested in buying it. She is only selling it because she has about three bb's, mostly for security reasons, trust me the BB torch 9860 works in SA! Its unlocked to any network. My email address is [email protected]. She has just started advertising it today on fb, so I think it would go fast!! My name is Henriette. Good phone, but personally I am a Samsung Galaxy S II fan all the way!!

Does anyone have an idea when the Blackberry Torch 9860 will be released by vodacom??????? PLEASE! I can upgrade now and want this phone!! =D

OK since this is a thread dedicated to BB Torch, do you guys think I should go for the Torch any day over other BBs? I am upgrading next month and I would really love a BB

I'm also wanting on the 9860 as I have the Storm2 at the moment and just LOVE the phone.
When I saw that there will be another full touch screen phone I was super stoked!!
Now the question is will it ever come to SA.

I'm now sitting between getting the 9810 or the 9860 from a friend in Dubai....

My wife has had 2 Torch 9800 and she was very happy with them with no problems.
