That was eons ago, was it a general channel for people using the client ?Put in a chat/message feature, uTorrent had it long time ago. Was lekker, people could say if the video quality was kak/good etc.
Ext has some comments on the major stuff. Helps a bit.Put in a chat/message feature, uTorrent had it long time ago. Was lekker, people could say if the video quality was kak/good etc.

Cool, will add it to my list. Not a general chat per se but it was a per torrent chat, so you can make comments on the actual file/torrent you are downloading.
All I can say is to go and see what QBittorrent does right and then adopt that to your liking. Transmission is basic, though I have never used it. The only client I use is QBittorrent, so I can't speak to the others. The main advantage is its having a built-in search.
Feature rich apps aren’t a problem, clunky unintuitive ui design is.I like Transmission BECAUSE it’s basic where every other torrent client seems to be bloated with kak.
How would that differ from remote client access via http? I.e web based viewing access.A nice feature for me would be an easy way to remote drop files into my torrent client by just sending it a link to the file.
But copying a link is a manual process. As much as I have remote access now it’s still a pretty laborious process for anything I need to do manually.
I was looking at pvr type functionality. I just don’t like any of the available solutions so never used them.Another thing that could be nice is just making all the Sonarr/Radarr/*darr integrations simpler.
Currently qt but I’m also looking at web view usage. Trying to keep the binary to a minimum. What are you using for the GUI?
True true.Feature rich apps aren’t a problem, clunky unintuitive ui design is.
I don't have an exact answer but I was thinking a plugin or something almost like a drop box where I just throw it the link or the torrent file and it just does it's thing to a default folder without more questions. How would that differ from remote client access via http? I mean I don't expect a miracle, but maybe some kind of "Share to X" integration. But copying a link is a manual process.

That being said I may add that. I started preliminary ground work for plugin architecture running in an isolated sandbox this evening. But yeah, just need to pace everything.
So this would be for remote? i.e. you drag the link into a browser of sorts?I don't have an exact answer but I was thinking a plugin or something almost like a drop box where I just throw it the link or the torrent file and it just does it's thing to a default folder without more questions.
I mean that is doable, but it's an additional modification to the user's OS to allow for it. Doubt many people would be open to that.I mean I don't expect a miracle, but maybe some kind of "Share to X" integration.
Yeah, it can be a pita. But there are limitations with certain things; a context menu integration would require a new application to be installed on the remote machine, so it could potentially set up file sending automatically. It would turn one app into two. The actual client installed a sending service for another machine. I mean it's easy enough, but is the effort worth the result?Copying a link isn't so painful, it's copying it then finding the other App/Web then pasting it then defining a folder etc etc.
That was always my issue. I'm lazy. If setting up the app is considerable effort, I get bored and move on.I mean I set it up so long ago and it just keeps working but I know it was pretty painful between having to define the labels and setup relevant paths for those and it requires a lot of config on both sides.
Agreed.I feel it could be make much easier and also one-sided with some more auto configuration and/or discovery.
Things like this only work when there is big adoption, so you can almost create a synthetic chat network, potentially using peer node information per torrent into a group and then into a chat system.I use Tixati. It also has groups you can search.'
Page scraping, websites love thatOne useful feature is if it can be given a webaddress and it just lists the torrent links (some will go to a separate page where the actual link is).

Agreed.
Windows, Linux and MacLooks good.
What OS are you developing it for?
