Hi

i want to make a torrent site and a nzb site but i dont know which host to use , i thinking of using my pc but i dont have a static ip

Don't you have a hosting company? What's your signature about then?

yeah but thats a dedicated server based in the uk on a 100mbit line , i want this to be local so our South Africans can have something better while they capped

Scary.
He must be a re-seller.
Use hosting services located in other countries (Eastern)

matrixweb: Goodluck.
Local bandwidth is expensive.
Why don't you go for a local only fibre IS package or something.
You will violate most hosting comapanies TOS (Terms of Service).

matrixweb you started annoying me with your silly posts when your post count was 30 already - I think other's are starting to get equally annoyed now though. Did you not read my message to you the other day ?

huh?

If you want to host something like a torrent site and it is going to be local only then I suggest you host it off a 4mb line with 512kbs upload or faster. But since 512kbs is the fastest I think that would do. Then you get yourself 30GB local only accounts. IS is the only ones with those accounts. And maybe it will work.

Whats the point in hosting local torrents? Local bandwidth is very expensive.

Go abroad

i want to start of with a nzb site which will let ppl upload , download etc like newshost and as it continues make a torrent portion in the site

Well deticated hosting in SA is a joke so its much better to host off your own adsl line. Just the crappy upload speed that is slowing us down!

nzb files arent so large as all i have to do is store them and let ppl dwnload , i never seen a nzb bigger than 8mb or even 8mb
