I have a 1mb uncapped account with Mweb.

Been using torrents for a long time, and as of last week, torrent speeds have been terrible.

A 100mb while would normally be done in no longer then 2 hours. Same file now takes almost a full day to download.

I have posted in the Mweb thread, and Mweb guy has indicated my line is fine, which leads me to believe other people on Mweb must be experiencing the same somewhere.

Anybody else having issues? Please share.

Thanks

I had the same issue. Sat on the line with support for 2 weeks trying to resolve it and other ports also being totally dead. The answer i got was there was nothing wrong and they just dont understand it. Eventually just switched providers as my work was being affected with Skydrive and SQL Server being dead

Thanks for the feedback, i have been happy with Mweb. Switching ISP is my last resort, but sooner later, my hand is going to be forced.

For now, i just want to try understand if the issue is limited to me or not. Nobody seems to be piping up, so not very sure.

Why you don't already have an Openweb account, I don't think I will ever understand. PM MrBeep for a gold trial account. You'll be an OW subscriber by this time tomorrow.

My line is working fine - not too much issue with general downloads and browsing. Just the torrents are gone to almost no performance.

All the torrents are showing dark red indicating there are paused or stopped. So i did a small test, plugged in my 3g data card, the all turned blue immediatly. Disconneted it, went back to adsl, and back to dark red.

Simply, price - but i may just switch, getting a bit fed up with no real help from Mweb despite there being an obvious issue.

Okay, quick update, performance is now back on par with what it used to be. Maybe somebody was reading this thread and did something? Mweb guy?

Anyway, I am not going to count my chickens just yet. Will monitor for the next few days and will update this thread if things go south again.

Had the same problem a while back...i thought it was MWEB but seems not!

So i did some research and found out that uncapped has a small glitch with torrent programes and i should just download the latest program ..so i did and all was fine once again!!

I checked my version and all settings last week already - was on the latest version, and all settings were correct.

Its working now, so lets what happens.

what torrent speeds? lol... i dont get anything on torrents... NZB maybe get like 0.5mbps on 1mbps account...

Everything is good with my 1megabit account, however I did have some issues (now all except YouTube fixed) Mweb guy suggested I disable the protected access thing under my ADSL control panel on mweb's website, fixed all the problems for me, except that YouTube streaming in 360p still buffers a lot!!! But I have a feeling that it probably just a problem with chrome, as it only buffers a little at a time (even when paused)

I have the same damn problem, since I joined Mweb in October. I'm on a 4mb premium uncapped / unthrottled account. My speed tests I get up to 8 Mbps but on torrent sites I'm very lucky to get 300kb/s. I'm 200 meters away from my exchange, my line is fine. Mweb technical department said they shape p2p / torrents heavily. So there's your answer.

A few days last week I got home and my torrents were dead, 0kb, all's seemed fine for the last few days though.

Torrents are fine on my 4mbps line. Downloaded a 1.3Gb episode of one of my series in 2 and a bit hrs.

If it's taking two hours to download 100mb on a 1mbps account then

Switch to Openweb and you'll be a lot happier. Day or night there's no comparison.

I've noticed with Youtube that it'll stop buffering when you pause it so I cannot pause and leave an HD vid to buffer anymore. :\

My download speeds are also extrememly slow since last night. Whats going on with Mweb, dont see anything on their network status page.
