What touch screen phone is the best buy at the moment except for the Nokia N97, which is a great phone by the way.

If touch screen is key, i cant see how you say the N97 is great. From using it, and reading a good few reviews, i think the touch screen on that phone is not that great.

What about Samsung Omnia HD, iphone 3Gs, Dream, HTC Touch Pro2, Touch HD

I'd so for touchscreens you only really have like 3 options for a decent experience - iPhone, HTC Touch Diamond2/HD/Pro2, HTC Magic. The Omnia's and Nokia's seem behind as far as responsiveness and usability is concerned - from reading reviews that is. Only ever used iPhone, Omnia, HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Magic first hand.

WHY do you want a touch screen? Very important that. As much as I've been enjoying the HTC Dream/G1, I really do miss having the K800i. It was a tough piece of kit, and had a good camera. The HTC is great to 'play' with, but as just a phone, it's overkill.

Touch screen is a fad. Its a nuisance after a while. Now I wouldn't trade my Blackberry for any phone.

u r so right. i have an iphone but I still have my K800i with me most of the time. iphone is very cool for playing and mp3 but k800i is still a better PHONE.

it all depends on what ud like to use the phone for...whether just phone, or more advanced use etc
I currently use an Xperia and am totally happy with it, previously I used an Imate Kjam and I have to admit, if it wasnt for the hardware keyboards in both phones I would have been often frustrated...

Agreed :) If the G1 didn't have physical buttons I'd have serious cravings for some proper clicking ;)
