I had to travel a distance with the caravan and put the 12 volt on for the fridge (probably a good 200 watt 20amp draw) and my caravan battery was totally stone flat by the time I got to the campsite!

I don't have this problem with the Kombi and this new golf has a factory fitted towbar.
From what I can see all they have done is plug in to the rear lights! WTF?

Which pin on that plug should have a fat positive wire that should charge the caravan battery when travelling? Middle one?

I want to kick up a fuss about this!

Thanks.

AFAIK the blue can also be used as 12v accessory, but depends on how its wired in the car itself. If I were you I'd just manually run a wire from the Cigarette lighter socket to the appropriate pin on the trailer or just through the boot and straight to the caravan
