My last 5 speedtests all at different times on different days were below 300 k/b second. MTNDD this cannot be normal and must please be investigated.
You better hope it is good news.
Since people started using HSDPA in highveld Technopark the speed dropped to 10KBytes/s
The warning earlier on refers. See my speedtest below on 4 bars MTN HSDPA:
Download time: 44.485 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 91.7 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 11.2 (kiloBytes/second)
I hope that MTN is working.
I am often working in Doringkloof (between Lyttelton and the N1), and if I am lucky I get 40kb/s. And that is with an antenna!
Just had a look at the street map, and it assures me I am covered for HSDPA. I have a green light on the data card - think it means HSDPA??![]()
Using WinXP's Task Manager to keep an eye on network performance. Have always had this.
At a desktop PC at the moment. Will have a look later today and let you know.
Mmmmmm.. I did the test, and I get impressive-looking figures averaging around 500kB/s. But downloading a file (5MB) from ftp.is.co.za runs at just over 26kB/s sustained. A file smaller than 1MB downloaded at 60kB/s.
Is this typical? I download large volumes of data (Google Earth) sometimes, so any improvement is welcomed!
Cheers
Brendon
... Download now 1 Mb/s and upload now 200 kb/s - that is more like it and definitely now broadband. ...
WOW! This is the Lyttelton tower? I'm going to have to stop off at a coffee shop nearby and try this out myself![]()
