Hi guys i have not been on mybroadband in a long time as have been very busy with uni but i was wondering if anything more has been said or started happening about the tower capacities being upped to 100mb like iburst said they would or if they have said anything bout second tower in northcliff area cos i remember iburst representative telling me they were planning another tower thanks in advance for any replies guy.

And am just checking up for a friend what the olivedale area towers are like because he is thinking of getting iburst so i would appreciate it if anyone could perhaps tell me what load and tower hopping is like there so i can advise him thanks guys.

Or is the number of replies also the amount of work iburst has done for load in Northcliff :confused:
 
They said something about that the other day.

They said they have identified a few locations for a new tower (or two..) in Northcliff but were having problems getting the sites, probably due to environmentalists or the owners of the sites. They were working on it though...

No idea about the 100mb upgrade, but I thought that they were planning to use WiMax for that, not sure about it though. If that is the case it might still take a while.

For your friend, check the coverage maps to see how close he is to a tower, and if there are others in the area that could cause hopping.
 
Thanks for reply but coverage maps not really helpful cos i live in quite good coverage but cos of tower load i get bad speeds was wondering if he would have same problem, i really hope they upgrade or build new towers.
As for tower hopping i don't really think he will have much of problem there.

Well a good way to know for sure would be to just take your modem out to him, or get him to have a site test from iBurst, and check out the load with UTTracestar.

Always best to check your exact location yourself.
