I purchased a new Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 XS in October 2022 (Cape Town), fuel efficiency specification/mileage reported by Toyota was 6.9 L/100km with a range of 693 km on the full tank (47 liters), however, I am now on 3000 km on the ODO the on-board readout shows the fuel efficiency between 8,2 - 7,6 L/100 km for the 3 months which is not as per the specification of 6,9 L/100 km - also the fuel range varies between 500 - 480 km on the full tank which is approximately 30 % less than specified.
I appreciate and understand that fuel efficiency is governed by personal driving habits, however, I do not drive the vehicle hard or over-rev the vehicle, I'm a retired pensioner who drives as any normal person, I have spoken to the car dealership on a couple of occasions only to be advised the car has to be run-in?
I am interested to know if there are other Toyota Cross owners who have experienced similar circumstances or are able to advise what course of action one can take.
