Not denying the benefits at all.

The demand is so great in SA for Toyotas, we will have them locally manufactured or not. I recall there was a massive debate about this last year already.

Yeah big demand. But still manufacturing locally is hell of expensive if you have to import parts which attracts a lot of taxes which can be partially set off by APDP. Even local parts have their own bits of imported portions. It gets rather complicated

I'm sure Moz or Botswana would love to see Toyota setting up there. Hell, even Zim, as that would love many problems.

We might even have issues with stolen Toyotas entering the country as opposed to leaving it at our borders ...
