Anybody have the TP Link Archer D7 router? Is it worth getting, or anything else available? Mainly for ADSL/VDSL

So purely ADSL?It doesn't have a VDSL modem.
So purely ADSL?
Yeh where would i get one of those, and cost?Yes.
I saw you had a wanted thread the other day for the Archer D2, if you're buying a new modem get the Archer VR400 or VR900 if you really need Wi-Fi that fast.
I can pick up one off somebody for 1k, hence why im asking about it .Yes it doesn't have a VDSL modem, ADSL only. For the rest it's a great product and I had 0 issues with mine in the year or so I had it before lightning took it from me. I replaced it with a Archer D9 which I'm running now for about 6 months and it's just as solid.
The no VDSL bit doesn't bother me, I currently have a 10 MB ADSL line which is the fastest I can get at my place. One day when fiber arrives I'll continue using the D9 in router mode since it's a excellent wifi router.
Depending on the size of your house and your requirements in terms of wired and wireless speeds, you might be able to get away with a much cheaper option.

Thanks will have a look. The Archer VR400 is R1526.46 and the Archer VR900 is R2962.86
I have the Archer D2 and I get ~120Mbps through two walls about 10m away and the Archer VR400 had double the Wi-Fi speed of the D2.
Thanks will have a look.
Yeh no VDSL yet, so think that is not a concern, but always good to have. Im looking at prices of the D7, and its still quite pricey, so maybe this 1k is not a bad price.I think you once told me you don't have VDSL yet, if you can get the Archer D7 for R1000 buy it and in the future when you get VDSL you buy a cheap VDSL modem and use the D7 in Router Mode.

Oh lol then its a steal i supposeR1000 is less than half the price of a new one.

Possibly, but then again, most marketing things are bs.Those marketing estimates are almost always bs.
Yet idiots still use them to benchmark products.Possibly, but then again, most marketing things are bs.![]()

^^ Pretty much this. As long as the AP can saturate your real world internet speed in reasonable cases comparing theoretical speeds is dumb. That's why I said theoretical but the real world speeds are faster than 100Mbps so fibre users are fine.
