Yep. Works for me. I have a separate account just for remote access which my TP-Link dials, and once remoted, I can dial other PPPoE connections from it.

OP was looking for all-in-one solution ADSL connectivity. 1043ND doesn't have that.

USB port doesn't do 3G. Storage only.

Definitely has DD-WRT support but quite difficult to do it from the comfort of your own home. Would have been great to get uniterm to do it.
 
Have the 1043 at home and it works very well as a router with ddwrt. Becomes a very powerful router for a very low price!

Well for certain values of non-working, sure. :p Also, hack more memory in!

OK, but I don't see the hassle (and no, I'm not just being smartarsed, I recently DID this with one we regrettably got with stock firmware on) with a simple one-two ..the feel-good benefit of having Uniterm do it is so that you get DD-WRT mentioned on your invoice which means no warranty drama. Also, if one did stray, DD-WRT even helps you out with reverting to stock.

I see what you're saying.

I am moving to a new place where ADSL is not possible and you bringing up 3G card possibility with DD-WRT in the device has changed my plan completely. Me Gusta.

I think today I shall move my 1043 over to DD-WRT :)
 
I collected my 6890 also from Uniterm direct in Cape Town, is the best modem/router I ever had (and I had quite a few already), the wireless works perfectly as well. It was R 6oosomething since the price is excl VAT. But it was worth it since I didn't wanna wait for delivery from some obscure mail order site.
