Tracing lost/stolen HSDPA Modem

U have to go to the police and ask them to ask their tech department to request Vodacom to trace it. You will need to give them the IMEI number.

In my experience the police have been very laidback about bothering with this sort of thing.

Yes, it is possible to trace it to a small area, but not exactly. And they could check the SIM using it, and find out who it is if it is a RICA'd SIM.

But will they bother ? I don't think so - but I will be happy if I'm wrong !

Cant deny that. but that is SAPS failing you, not Vodacom...so please dont rant and rave and give us a performance. That is the procedure and channel that needs to be followed...DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?! :-)

Ja, Baas !! ;)

Sorry, I'm just pissed off at the cops, they don't follow up on this sort of thing. Too busy with more important stuff ??

But if you don't nail the guys stealing cellphones they grow up to hijack Mercs !!

Phone the SAPS and they will tell you to come to them. But tell them you neighbour is assaulting his wife or girl friend....you will see the SAPS in split seconds. The Saps are BAANG and they love domestic issues

And if they get there and theres no Domestic Abuse going on and they figure out that it was just a ploy to get them there so that you can trace your HSDPA Modem... Dan is jy in die K@K :D

Can someone advice me?someone has stolen my wi-if mordem , so is it possible for me to trace it?

i have a somewhat unique problem.
i lost my cellc data SIM

it was used on my USB modem but i sometimes use it on my phone when im updating apps.
i cant remember the number.

i went to cellc and they say theres no record of any CellC SIM that has been RICA'd on my name.
then i remembered that one of their staff used his own phone to RICA it- i suppose to save time.

anyways, that guy does not work there anymore.
i have the USM modem at home- is it possible to find the number of the SIM that was used on that modem?
is there any app/tool for this?

CellC says if i give them the number, they will do a SIM swap & i will get back the remaining data from my other SIM.

pls advise.

That comment is utter BS. I have logged a incident at saps and given to vodacom to blacklist, it should be vodacom priority to track the stolen device. Not receive a request to track it from saps.

Or is vodacon counting on us to take out another contract to get the device

Corporate corruption

This is a Vodacom thread. But call cellc and give them ur id number, they can pick up all ur assigned numbers
