I regularly check paycity.co.za for traffic fines, and I seem to have received my 1st ever infringement.
How ever on paycity.co.za they do not have a picture of my infringement. I then when to the aarto website to query my fine and after entering the notice number i get the following response "No infringements matched the search criteria." The infringement was issued 12 days ago. How do i know if this fine is valid? How can i get a picture of the infringement?

They should post you a letter with the picture attached to it. Otherwise just go ask if the fine is valid at your nearest traffic department.

I just received a final notice fine for "failing to license the said vehicle in accordance with ......go screw yourselves in the ass"
To the value of R1500

Vehicle: Toyota minibus taxi CF189847

I don't own a taxi

Does Telkom swop out admin staff with Traffic Service City of Cape Town :p

If fine does not come via registered mail (as is required by law), why are people checking wesbites for fine notices?

Fines are a two way straight. If a law is broken, ALL procedure MUST be followed in the execution of the fine and ONLY then should it be paid.

I'm in Cape Town. I've apparently got 3 outstanding fines (1 for Drakenstein & 2 for Overberg -both still in the W. Cape) from earlier this year. R150 & 2X R200; all for allegedly doing 70-75 in a 60 zone). All arrived by standardl mail at my old address (my licence registration has since arrived at my new address).

Do I still need to wait to receive the fines/notices by registered mail? The last one I received from Drakenstein said: 'NOTICE BEFORE SUMMONS IN CRIMINAL CASE'.

What's the date on the fines? When did you receive them? Picture?

The 'Print Date' for the 2 for Overstrand Municipality is late February (both 'FIRST NOTICE'). The Drakenstein Municipality's NOTICE BEFORE SUMMONS IN CRIMINAL CASE' print date is also late February, but both arrived at my old address after I had moved at the end of February, so I haven't officially received anything as far as I'm concerned.

There is no picture with the Drakenstein one & the pictures with Overstand notices are dubious. The one is from the front but my car is way to the left of the frame. The other is from behind with my vehicle very small & below the vertical centre. There are no crosshairs in either picture. I take it that these are all as a result of mobile traps as they all mention an 'Officer Name'?

Slightly off topic, but I have an outstanding fine, and it is withing the 32-day window, i.e. I qualify for the 50% discount, but when I log into either Paycity or my online baking, I don't have the option to adjust the payment amount, and it wants to pay the full amount. Is there any way around this barring having to go and pay it in person?

If a fine hasn't been sent to me by registered mail, in accordance with the AARTO legislation, or wasn't issued to me in person by a traffic officer and signed for, by me, I don't pay it.

I don't go looking for fines on those sites - I don't trust them. There are always discrepancies or problems.

+100 ... AARTo.gov.za shows fines for just vehicle A ... paycity shows fines for a vehicle A and vehicle B ... so i decided let me go to the source .... the traffic department .... in marlboro traffic office i get a print out of my fines and it reveals just vehicle B ... i really dont know which one is true

Jip.

Only time I've ever had a problem was when trying to register a car under my name when I had a warrant out (failure to appear in court after an "instant summons"- issued by a spietkop). ALL other fines I've never paid haven't caused any problems...

If I receive a fine via standard post it goes straight into the bin...or I give it to my 2 year old to scribble on. :D
