Trail running is toxic

You seem wound a little tight. This thread is just a little bit of fun; no need to take it so seriously. I have my own issues with "run crews" culture and so on, but that doesn't stop me from taking part. But clearly I already stepped on some toes here.

Also, I love how I am labelled as toxic by so many on this forum because I have certains standards, and try and uphold them in everything I do.

Seems there is a common denominator here, I will let you figure it out.

You really are ill-informed
That's one opinion.... certainly.

99% of the participation in that sport is at an amateur level
...configured to feed the professional level. It's garbage all the way through.

Amateur sport is great at building friendships, developing character and grit, learning life skills
In the absolutely worst way possible by the least number of people possible.

Sportsball has zero redeeming qualities. None. Fun to play - sure - but beyond that ... Nope. Pointless.

I want my ****ing click back, suspense is killing me.
In future if you encounter a toxic person on a trail trying to 'beat their best' on a specific section and runs you off the trial trying to get there remember this story:

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”
Moral of the story ?
We suffer more in our own minds than we think.

padel- those men are just bitches man
I enjoy the odd social padel game, but still prefer tennis if it’s an option. But yeah, the padel aficionados are a special bunch. I’m still trying to figure out why the equipment is so expensive though.

I mean the racquets winning on centre court at Wimbledon cost less than a bang average padel bat

Wait I know what happened, out on the trails his fellow trail runners soon found out @Zellephant is a Stellies tjchommie(because unprompted he told them along with all his other amazing achievements, this boytjie is special mos)and hence they promptly barred him and told him to gtfo.
@EmmanuelGoldstein would probably understand...

Maybe the OP tried to get them all to drink more?
You really dont need to try very hard to get trail runners to drink more. Hell, most crews are sponsored by breweries man.
Nah, I dont even see myself as a runner. I run as part of my training plan and lifestyle, but trail runners are zealots, man. I dont consider myself a trailrunner.
