Howdy,
Does anyone know of reputable institutions that can provide training on the hardware & software support for MAC Workstations? A website and/or contact details will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Speak to StbA. I think he did his with Core in JNB.

What training are you looking for exactly?

Support essentials... Desktop and Portables, Xsan Admin?

Thanks, Bwana. I found a link to several training options on Core's website. Some additional alternatives would also be appreciated, if available. Let's see what others post here.

I'm teaching myself. I have my big yellow bible and I ask anyone who knows more than me a million and one questions. I also "steal with my eyes" (IOW I watch what others are doing). It's also possible to get certified by Apple - check their website for details.

The Zastore has links to training and I did get training from them, but, if you really want to get desktop support training start downloading podcasts like Macbreak weekly and others. Desktop support goes further than simple fixes for issues, it's giving recommendations on what software to use for what purpose. Being more of a consultant than a support techie.

Would you say that the ZAStore training is a good kickoff point, with the MACBreak podcasts as a good supplement?

The training is not for me but for the Desktop guys on the different sites. I only need to make sure we can provide the support since the Client is buying MAC's for desktop publishing.

ZAStore training is a good start with Mac pod casts and Mac blogs being good supplements.
www.tuaw.com for example.
Being able to chat with other Mac support guys is also a good thing.
