transfer files between laptop/pc

my laptop connects wirelsessly to my router and desktop is on same router.
how can i share files between the 2 without using a flash drive. can i send files thu the router
 
If both are connected to the router and file sharing is activated on the machines you should have no problems :)
 
please tell me how to enable file sharing between the two
