Transfer from telkom to "WA complete"?

I'm considering on having my ADSL line fees transferred to WA and getting a 3GB account with WA in the process.
1. Does this take a lot of time to accomplish?
2. Can I use my line while I wait for the transfer to take place? (which is probably a few days)
3. Is signing a contract optional or mandatory for the ADSL Complete package? (I believe it's optional, but I'm just checking)
4. Anything else I should know about the process?

Current the connection price: R150 for DSL line @ telkom, R300 for 3GB at mweb, R110 analogue line rental = R560 Total

Transferred price: R340 for ADSL complete @ WA incl. 3GB account, R110 for analogue line, R40 for Mweb email = R490 Total

560 - 490 = R70 saving...

Is it worth the trouble?

I already have an ADSL account with WA so I assume nothing will change regards paswords, email addresses and so on.
Once Telkom have cancelled my ADSL line, how long before WA can activate it?

Hi

It takes - 4 to 6 weeks for the DSL services to be activated, however this is also depends on Telkom's port availably

So does that mean when I cancel my ADSL access with Telkom, I loose my port and it's going to take another 6 to 8 weeks to get another one through WA, even though I already have ADSL and a WA account?

This needs to be seemless, 6 to 8 is not going to work for me.

Thats correct you will loose the line port on the local exchange.

I loose interest around about this time.

I realise it's not WA's fault, but I'm not going to be without ADSL for 6-8 weeks plus risk not getting a port, just to save a few $$$ a month.

Thanks Zig_ZA for that piece of info. I would have considered moving my ADSL port, but not if it means down-time

if you wanted of course to go the other way and swop from WA to Telkominternet it would indeed be seamless if not instantaneous
