Transfering airtime

hey guys. got a question. why cant u transfer airtime from a my choice top up mtn and the vodacom 135 a month

I thought airtime transfers only worked like mtn to mtn or voda to voda,could be wrong tho.

if u on mtn u can only transfer to other mtn. and same with vodacom

Thats my understanding of it.
On PrePaid i can transfer from my Voda number to another Voda number but not across to another non Voda number.
