Transfering Joomla! website to a different host

Hi,

This is probably a silly question. I was watching the video tutorials for Joomla!. They did mention that you can transfer the website created to a different host. My questions are:

1) Is this possible even though you created it over the browser (through the Joomla! administration site)? Or does one need to install a Joomla! development environment on your local PC?
2) I am not very experienced when it comes to web development, so if this is possible is it fairly straight forward? (I am fairly computer literate have done other development of and a bit HTML but not an expert)
3) Please suggest any 3rd party tools that would make this easier if there are any you know of.

simply copy it across and change ya config files.

The web host which you are transferring to should be able to assist you with the migration.

The easiest way to do this is to use Akeeba backup:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/site-security/backup/1606

I don't mind at all- this is the tool we use when clients move their Joomla installs to us. Very easy, even for beginners.
