Transmogrification is changing the appearance of armor and weapons. There are some limitations though, like it has to be a magical item, and you can't change the type of armor. So no making a plate armor set look like cloth :D.

It also looks like you need to own the item you want to change to. So if you want to change to a T2 set you need to own it first. It looks like they might add other options later.

As for the Void Storage, it looks like it's meant to store armor sets.

There is a bunch of info on MMO-Champ:

In other words... every single curious scrub in orgrimar will be inspecting you ... to see what gear you are REALLY wearing ?

Oh jirre... hier kom nog 'n gearscore f*kk*p

sad thing is why is 4.3 coming this early :/

4.3 will be the last cata patch also it seems, as deathwing will be in it.

tbc had 5 and woltk had 4 big patches, why cata only have 3 :(

I think to keep in line with the whole "1 expansion per year" cycle path they decided on, they have to think about finishing off cata... granted its already almost september, and a new tier would still need to go through PTR / testing etc... I think its accurate to say we will see the last tier on the production servers around Oct / Nov, leaving people around 3 months to finish up the content as we head into 2012. Timelines are accurate, its just the pace at which content was rolled out which was pretty bad.

Wonder if it will work on weapons/accesories

I would change my current shield to the drop from Illidan in a heartbeat

This is a faulty assumption from the guy who wrote the article. As stated even before cata was released, we still have to find out about the old god who 'signed deathwing's cheques'

Besides TBC had illidan as the main villain, but after killing him we got the awesome sunwell patch.

I have to say I'm looking forward to the transmogrification(not a fan of current gear looks) and void storage for all the junk gear and old tiers in my bank

The only reason they're doing it, it that they're scared to death of SWToR and GW2

hmmm another gimmick to keep the zombies clicking away for a little longer!

Bad idea imo. This will make the classic items not classic anymore, ruining the history of the game. People will only go out to find a certain item which have the looks that are “awesome” to them and would change their current item to look like that. Someone will see that and would think it looks cool as well, that person will go get that item and then change their current item to look like that too. At the end of the day you’ll have hundreds of people looking the same with the same old classic gear on and doing what they used to do in current game play. Where today you use the classic gear to look cool and show off what you accomplished in the past or that you have obtained a neat looking item and you only show off when afking in orgrimmar/stormwind, to look cool just before a raid boss and to boast how good you play that you can beat players with old gear. My point is that this will change that by people going for items to change their current item’s looks and not going for them for the same reasons people went for those items in the past and today.

It still a step up from right now where people just wear whatever is their best gear, causing everyone of class x to look the same(still much better than wrath where high end gear except for tier had the same look)

If you like the way something looks but everyone else is also displaying it, just change the look to something else you like. Personally I can't wait to permanently walk around with my pally's 'set' of a mixture of random enchant Blood Knights/of the Champion gear

You’ll still look like every class of x wearing armor of y did back then. Mainly because you can’t change a plate item to look like a cloth/leather/mail item. Trust me there will be loads of copies and even if you change your armor again there will be copies of that as well.

Things that are breaking WoW (IMO):

1) Achievements. This caused raiding to be a pain and less welcomed by new players.
2) Gearscore. No comment.
3) Dungeon Finder. Promotes dungeons which is great, but reduces the social aspect of WoW which is bad.
4) Heirlooms. You often end up out-leveling your quests, not the only reason though.
5) Raid Locks. Just plain stupid. Why limit how much I want to raid?
6) Flying in Azeroth. Everyone is god. Why do we have land mounts again?
7) Cataclysm.

:D

Welcome to the world of clothies who can only wear 25% of all armor :p

You'd actually be surprised at the amount of unique looking 'of the X' 'sets' there are.
Edit: you can also mix and match different sets with a common theme/colour for a more unique look

That wont mean the majority of players will use them(they wont), but most popular looking sets will be tier gear(especially t2 and t5/6) as long as you stay away from that there wont be too many people who will look the same

Gotta say I'm looking forward to tanking with thunderfury(I hope its still uncommon among players) and having my lock in dungeon 1 set(no longer available)

Look at these situations:
1. Arena starts, you see a warrior with the Arcanite Reaper and you would think it will be an easy win, but wait, the guy hits like a truck. DERP Ruthless wep.
2. You are in a bg, it’s some of the first bg’s you are doing in such a long time after not playing the game. You see a paladin with the Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros(old level 60 version), you remember there is a new one out and wonder if it could be that instead, but you decide to stick with the main decision of it being the old one. Guy hits like a truck. DERP Ruthless wep while it was the old level 60 version of the Sulfuras.
3. You’d have to inspect every single guy you take to a raid to be sure his/her gear is fitting and he’s not trolling. Because as it currently is, you can at least what gear he is wearing from it being accustomed to the game and the tier.

At the end of the day judging what gear the other players have will become impossible, especially in pvp situations.
