Under the radar...
Ladies, Gentlemen & gender indifferent,

I'll be turning 30 this March and want to bring it in with a bang.

For a friend's recent 30th, we went to Spain for a week and partied hard - I want to do something similar, but would prefer another country.

I've been looking around but nothing's really catching my eye, so I come to the wise people here for suggestions.

Looking for somewhere with some good nightlife, nice restaurants and hopefully some culture/history.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

btw, I've been searching for a couple of hours now and it dawned on me that this would be a great idea for a website - type in a date and get a list of activities from around the world for that and surrounding dates.. Would work for birthdays, anniversaries, anything really... maybe some web devs here can pick up and run with it. use it don't use it :)

Grand Baie, Mauritius. Rocky coastline but thick jol. :-)

Thanks for the quick responses.

@bromster, Been to Mauritius before, but that place looks pretty good. Will check it out.

@Brawler, Thailand's a tad too far out.. Will only have a few days leave and don't want to spend half that time in a pressurised tube. Besides, don't think the SO would appreciate some ladyboy wearing more makeup than her!

@IzZzy, Croatia looks really interesting. Will investigate more.. Have you been there? Any thoughts?

Keep em' coming!

Auschwitz? Here it is an awesome place for a working holiday.. Plus you don't need to worry about a return ticket.

Miami. It has the best nightlife (And day partying for that matter) of any city I can think of

Hi all,

Sorry for the late reply..

@joeyhza, Amsterdam is on the shortlist.. Any tips/suggestions on what to do there (except the obvious...)?

@GhostSicxFour, Auschwits looks incredible! But i choose life.

@roskii, Hmmmm Ireland should be good with the build up to St. Patricks day.. Will take a look.

@JStrike & I.am.Sam, Miami is also on the short list. Was thinking of doing Disney, Universal Studios and end off with Calle-Ocho. Unfortunately, the Rand is kinda sucking right now...

@spiderkzn, That's pushing the limit on my travel time...

Thanks peeps!

With exchange rates going they way they are, i think going to eastern europe or the far east is you best bet.

So i would say Thailand - really cheap and from all the people that i have spoken to, a really good jol.
