Tree removal / purchase from your garden

My dad had that same tree, about the same height. Had someone out to cut it down, cost him about 3 grand. He cut it off hip-height though, and now we use it as a "table" to put drinks and the braaibak on :D

what city is this simon from?

Here we go.. just don't get these guys to take it down :D

Northern suburbs of what? (Not that I'm interested, just pointing out that your somewhat parochial indication of where you are isn't a hell of a lot of use to anyone)

Or is your post just so that someone else will come along and post their phone number here in reply? Of course, you can then tell us how great he was, and then we will all know that we've just been spammed...

Hire him

Just a word of caution:-
Your Personal Insurance most probably will not cover ANY damage done through the act of tree felling and therefore it is essential to get someone with the correct insurance cover and insist on seeing the policy schedule and check it is up to date and the correct Liability business description stands on the schedule.

I concur and endorse this. It is critical that whoever is removing or felling a tree from your property MUST have their own insurance. And unless you know the person, you should ask for confirmation.

In addition, it wouldn't hurt to advise your insurance broker and / or company that you are having work done.

Necro incoming.

Anyone know someone who does this kind of thing near Centurion - removing & buying? I can remove it myself if needed, but if someone else is willing to, and pay me for it, why not.

I mailed nurseries, and 2 said they don't do it, and another asked for pictures first. But just in case that doesn't work, hoping someone knows something like this.

Hello CamiKaze

Did you get the palms removed in the end?

Dave

Hello CamiKaze

I do tree removals if you are still shopping for a solution. No one takes those things out for free though. The wood is absolutely useless (except for some nano-carbon research) and the extremely stringy stuff wrecks chains and is hard wearing on our equipment, ect. I can come and take a look at getting that done for you. I assume you must have had some quotes since the thread started?
