Trevor Manuel resigns as well...

When the going gets tough the tough get going!!!!

We always wondered whether or not the ANC were made of 'the right stuff' or not. Now that the pressures mount, both politically and economically the *cough* 'leaders' run for the hills in their droves with their ill gotten gains.

Fine crowd they are.

In a strange way this is a good thing. About time the People of SA gets to see what happens if you put apes in charge.......

This should open a few million pairs of eyes ;)

Running for the hills? Now you are speculating over their reasoning. So what do they have to hide then? Should they be forced to work instead, like our ANC communist comrades expect? You imply that you know the actual reasons for their resignations, apart from those publicly stated. Care to share these with us?

My bet....

there will be a new Political Party announced before the end of the week.

anyone wanna take me up on that?

Aside from the pics-or-it-didn't-happen request.
Why are you confused about my statement?

I've always been secretly prepared for something like this. As someone said earlier HKGK (hier kom grook k@k)

I keed you, I keed you :D

You only addressed the gents on the forum !

It's all going to hell in a handbasket. Expect riots soon...

Just the kind of news we need to make this country look even better in the world media. bleh

If there was one person in the Government doing a good job, it is/was this man. Uncle Trevor had our economic policy sorted! The man's good at what he does. IMO this spells BIG SH one T for us!!

I beg to differ. If you look at the rate of inflation and the current HIGH interest rates in SA now, it is clear that he has NOT done a very good job. But then again, I don't think anyone can steer an evolving banana republic like SA.

The ONLY thing that SA was good at over the last 5-10 years was BORROWING lots of money, which is why it seemed so prosporous but it was just an illusion. The chickens are coming home to roost and Trevor Manuel is leaving, and will probably retire with his "so called legacy", that he was the best thing to happen to SA since the discovery of gold. In reality, did he REALLY do a good job? A good job would have resulted in increased productivity, employment and lower interest rates. Clearly SA has NOT seeing increased productivity, lower unemployment or lower interest rates.

SA is now a credit risk and will be facing spiraling inflation and and a whole host of problems that has come with trying to borrow your way to prosperity.

You haven't seen the start of the problems yet.

Manuel says only reason he's resigned is because Mbeki appointed him, also says he will serve in the new government

Fscking ridiculous if you ask me. Has major economic implications, and all for what? A show of support to a political party? This infighting between the ANC has got to fscking stop now!!!! It is beyond a joke ad they are acting like 2 year olds, with even more selfish agendas. If this is the case, then I tend to maybe agree with Sneeky then. But it does indicate piss poor leadership on the ANC's part to not have already discussed this internally and communicated their decision to the various heads of departments. All of this cloak and dagger bullsh1t is not good for our country in the least little bit, and is merely self-serving politicians looking after their own backsides after the country is thrown in the deep-end. A deep-end dug, lined and filled to the brim with mercury by the ANC. They caused this **** in the first place!!!

If he has not done so yet, I am anxiously awaiting the resignation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

EDIT: I see he did in fact resign. Wonder who will fund his ex-wife's 'habit' now?

Trevor Manuel quits

Trevor and 10 other ministers have quit. Who's going to take over his job? Dr Gwen Ramokgopa?

This country is a joke in the eyes of the world
