So yesterday I was listening to a news report on 702, and before they played a soundbite, the reporter says, "warning, please note this story may be triggering for some listeners". I mean :wtf:, we now give triggering warnings like we do with flash photography or graphic content?

snowflakes gonna be the end of civilisation as we know it

I like it. There are some thing that triggers me, and I'd like to know that before watching, or listening to something. But, then again, i like to be triggered, so...damn. Nevermind.

Maybe if they didn't use the word triggering, people wouldn't be triggered to create a thread.

Time to boycott Primedia products. SJW scum.

So what do triggered people do? So, you get triggered over the radio, do you send a sternly worded email to the station, take to social media, through a brick through your radio, etc? smh

You start spelling badly.

What was the trigger warning for, OP?

The rape story being discussed here where boys raped a girl at school. It was coupled with the ongoing rape stories such the one where a pregnant woman was gang raped by about 11 savages in the Joburg CBD, and the killing of 3 women in Soweto (over the weekend I think).

What's the problem with that then? Seems reasonable. Secondary trauma for sexual assault victims can be pretty hectic.

Thought it was for something stupid.

I have heard many news reports where horrible things are described like that girl in CT who got disemboweled but don't remember that coming with warnings, not even for graphic descriptions.

Edit: I do agree about potentially trauma for past victims of similar crimes though.

Whenever I read the words "TRIGGER WARNING" I always imagine some person sitting behind a computer screen and randomly getting shaking fits every time they read something.

Have you tried a mirror?

I hear and see content warnings all the time, both on the television and online news. I've just never heard it on the radio.

I'd prefer they say something like "the following content might be upsetting to sensitive viewers/listeners" rather than using the retarded "trigger warning", which many loony SJWs even use for dumb stuff like people using 'ableist' language such as "dumb" and "retarded", or 'cis-sexism' such as asking a lady if her baby is a boy or a girl. Or god forbid, TRIGGER WARNING because here comes an ad about weight lossand dieting.
