Nzbs no longer work on the new torrent flux

As previously discussed, we have a system in place for clients to report faults. These forums are not actively monitored, so please refrain from posting problems about any of our services here. Contact us directly or submit a support ticket - this way a problem can be resolved as soon as possible.

NZB download functionality was down due to system maintenance yesterday and changes that was made after the maintenance period. I'm happy to report that NZB download functionality has been enabled again and users can proceed to download .nzb files :)

Been using these guys for about a month, all I can safely say is that their support (ReubenL) is really good. The reason I cannot judge on anything else is because apparently IS has implemented severe shaping on their services. Their newserver speeds are non-existent and my torrents only download off-peak and at a speed of 10 kbps.

So I cannot hold it against them for the slow speeds, as any ISP that is reselling IS will have the same problem. However, if these problems still pursue after the SWC (which is why IS is heavily shaping) I might have to look elsewhere for uncapped services.

Thanks for your positive feedback Nicko :)

As previously discussed, the free news servers are always running with an extremely high load. The other problem with free news servers are that they do not cache content for very long. So should you try to grab something and the content are not cached, the news server would need to download it first before it can provide you with the files. Therefore I would recommend that you either subscribe to our Torrentflux service (which support torrents and .nzb files) or get yourself a subscription with a premium news server provider like Giganews (currently over 600 days retention).

Let me know if you require more information or any further assistance :)

I've found this thread on MyBB which might assist you: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?241620-Best-most-cost-effective-pay-news-server

@ ReubenL - Your advice is required please, as it seems that you are innovative guys that don't do corporate bullsh|t...

Been with Afrihost, MWEB, etc. - all extremely disappointing, (especially MWEB - dishonest imo) as this is not uncapped. I require 150 - 200 GB per month of DSL data (no more, can be capped after this - 150 GB minimum) - required for streaming (livestation.com - video; vlc - audio); web (mainly technical websites, with flash - USA/UK); email 14 x 10 MB accounts (theplanet.com, dallas tx usa); website editing (ftp - filezilla & dreamweaver - theplanet.com only); win remote desktop (london; istanbul; paris; amsterdam koeln); teamviewer (cape town & joburg only) 24/7/365; microsoft downloads / updates (1-4 machines / month); local voip (41.183.0.13 & 196.25.69.40); chat clients 4 support (icq; msn live; skype; gtalk; yahoo msn); file share < 3 MB X 10 - 15 (mionet.com; livemesh.com; google docs)

...have tried most ISP's MTN/Vodacom/Web Africa best so far; but wish to reduce cost, MWEB totally unusable, Afrihost ok at times, IS fairly regular issues and required to switch to WebAfrica or Telkom, however breaks the budget.

You are welcome to PM / Skype me.

Regards

M

Anybody else notice how ReubenL can travel backwards in time and answer questions before they get asked? see the last three posts...

And if the next update to torrentflux is anything like the last, it should be good. :)

*Waits patiently*

@djEJ what did you like in the last update?

Well, if I remember correctly, there was a speed boost and the nzb uploading. Oh crap... I need to pay my account for next month!!!

By the way, I'm on 384k. And since the update get 36K+. I'm thinking of moving to 4Meg.. But then what do I download? I'm soon going to be a lower-end user of my uncapped... This is sad... MWEB's marketing strategy is soon going to materialize and they will start being extremely profitable.
