Trouble looming at Eskom

NUM and Numsa revised their demands to 11% and 12%, respectively, while Solidarity revised their demand to 9.5%.
 
Other demands from the unions include:

Housing allowance to be raised to R7,000, and employees to be allowed to buy houses anywhere in the country;
Medical aid to shift to 80% (20% contribution by employees);
Cellphone allowance of R1,000;
R1,500 electricity allowance;
Once-off R1,500 essential worker or danger allowance, as well as a separate voltage work allowance on a sliding scale;
Performance bonus set at 25% of annual salary;
R20,000 study benefit per child; and
R10,000 car allowance through Eskom’s so-called vehicle X-scheme.

Holy fck sticks. That's quite a list of benefits. Even more so considering the lot of them are incompetent.

I say salaries stay as they and subtract R1k for every day we have load shedding
 
I think we need to work out what the average increase would be for Eskom if one includes the additional "benefits"

And while we have load shedding, these fsckers should get a big fat 0% increase.

That's why privatisation of any SEO will never happen under the watchful eye of the ANC.

Unionised Eskom Staff are going to get these perks, by the way. Not at the levels of these numbers, but there'll be a acceptable compromise reached.

Reminds me of the extract from someones recent book.

“Watching the main exit gate of Megawatt Park from my third-floor window, I was astounded to see a number of Range Rovers, BMWs, Mercs and even a stray Porsche heading for the exit at 15:30 in the afternoons.

Did we really have that many rich employees? And, if so, why were we paying top dollar for workers who were already packing up an hour or two after lunch?

That car allowance is a once off amount given? Sorry if I'm sounding stupid or obvious...
