Truecaller coming to WhatsApp

Truecaller will soon integrate its caller identification service into WhatsApp and other messaging apps to help users spot spam calls on such platforms, Reuters reports.

While the feature is still in a beta testing phase, Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi said it would roll out globally towards the end of May 2023.
 
So catch me up - what was the verdict on Truecaller? Are they harvesting phone books and selling the information? Or sharing it with other Truecaller users?

Because bloody hell, I am sick and tired of receicing calls, during meetings, from 087 numbers, informing me that "King Price consultants want to contact me and give me a no obligation quote to lower my car insurance premiums monthly - yada yada yada yada for 2 mins - can they phone you?"
 
Truecaller isn't the white knight people are looking for or thinking it is...
