Looking for some help as I am new to the ADSL scene. I want an ISP that does not shape or limit my connection speed at all . I have signed up for a capped account with 2 ISPs and downloads/torrents on both during waking hours come through at a snails pace meanwhile speedtest shows at nearly the line speed. I don't do a lot of downloading so don't need uncapped, just need full speed when I do want to download something. Does such a product exist? Thanks.

Stay away from Axxess. They claim unshaped on their capped product and then say it's managed. The effect is the same.

Business capped data is the way to go.

However given the current IS IPC problem down in Cape Town, even this account type on IS COULD be negatively impacted.

Nothing is truly unshaped. All (ALL) adsl accounts are contended in some way.

No such thing... you are looking for a Sky Hook.

All IS based ISPs are having capacity issues in Cape Town at the moment.

The Business accounts have been affected less though as they have priority.

So grab 5GBs and test:

The problem is that you can have the most unshaped uncontended ADSL account in the world, but if your Telkom exchange is congested there's bugger all your ISP can do about it. Your exchange is always going to be the biggest bottleneck in your connection to your ISP.

The ISP will always first blame the exchange until YOU prove otherwise. The industry is corrupt.
