Trying to reason with a brick wall

I once had a hour long conversation with someone who was adamant his rout to work varied in distance very day because it never took the same amount of time to drive it.

Don't go there. It is not worth it. I want my hour back.

Just be blunt about it

I put it quite bluntly that what he was saying was absolutely stupid and people would think he's an idiot if he said it to them.. but he still thinks he's right. He got an MCSE and A+ certificate about 10 years ago and hasn't worked in IT since.

This makes sense; nzb downloads at full speed because they are mute and I struggle to watch streams because of the sound.

Will mute when streaming tonight and report back tomorrow!

:p

Save this as YoutubeVolumeBooster.vbs and send to him. It will speed up streaming while running.

Set wshShell =wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
do
wscript.sleep 100
wshshell.sendkeys "{CAPSLOCK}"
wshshell.sendkeys "{NUMLOCK}"
wshshell.sendkeys "{SCROLLLOCK}"
loop

This thread reminds me of the A car at 120km/h is faster than a truck at 120km/h thread.

we are arguing about this concept, that if a car and a truck can both travel at 120km/h in the same direction, the car will be faster than the truck due to the fact the the car is lighter... and again due to the fact that the aerodynamics of the car are better than those of the truck. keep in mind that the speed is constant 120km/h...

Does that old trick still work on modern systems?

Turning the brightness down on your monitor also helps to get youtube clips to buffer more quickly. :p
Same as painting GT stripes on your router.

Some idiots are great though....

Yesterday I met a guy at Pick n Pay. He asked me why I was buying generic dish soap when sunlight was R2.00 cheaper. I showed him that the bottle of sunlight was half the size of the bottle of generic soap, and the generic soap was cheaper per 100ml. Man, was he impressed. Made me feel like a champion.

Sometimes, it's worth it to hack through the vegetation and let light into the densest parts of the forest.

The VBS works even with McAfee running on Ultra-corporate-paranoia-486-emulation-speed level.

I use it during load shedding. I was hoping for a key to toggle the laptop downlight though.

Thank god.....
